On October 4, the presentation of the book “MIRAS. THE HERITAGE”. The book is dedicated to the unique culture of the Crimean Tatars. This was reported on the official website of the MCSC.
“ MİRAS. THE HERITAGE is not just a book, it is the preservation of cultural memory. In times of Russian aggression, when the heritage of Crimea is under threat, this publication reminds us of the importance of cultural diversity and the struggle for the rights of indigenous peoples,” – said Deputy Minister for European Integration Taras Shevchenko.
This book gives readers the opportunity to plunge into the world of Crimean Tatar culture and learn about its history, traditions and art. The publication presents exquisite examples of jewelry, folk costumes, embroidery and other crafts kept in the funds of the National Museum of History of Ukraine and private collections.
“Cultural heritage is our identity, our memory. Crimean Tatars have a rich and ancient history that has been shaped over the centuries. All this is recorded in the new edition,” – commented Natalia Panchenko, – head of the Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.
The value of the publication is the texts prepared in three languages at once – Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar and English. This makes it possible to open the rich heritage of the Crimean Tatar people to a wider audience, overcoming language barriers.
