On Wednesday, November 10 at 12:00, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center will present an official translation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in the Crimean Tatar language at the Ukrinform news agency. Representatives of the organization, as well as experts, will talk about the importance and future prospects of registering a translation of this document.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center has completed work on the official translation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms into the Crimean Tatar language.

The translation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms into the Crimean Tatar language was carried out with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Ukraine.
Let us remind that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has been engaged in the translation of international documents not for the first time. On October 24, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was presented in the Crimean Tatar language. The text of the document was also posted on the UN official resources.
The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms is an international agreement between the member states of the Council of Europe ( drafted in 1950), signed and entered into force on September 3, 1953. The Convention establishes the inalienable rights and freedoms of every person and obliges states that have ratified the Convention to guarantee these rights to every person under their jurisdiction.
The main difference between the Convention and other international treaties in the field of human rights is the existence of a really operating mechanism for the protection of declared rights in the form of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which considers individual complaints of violations of the Convention by the signatory states.
