CTRC began the work of the 2nd Strategic Forum Future of Crimea

On Tuesday, October 31, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine, began the work of the II Strategic Forum The Future of Crimea, which is taking place in Transcarpathia!

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center is working to expand the expert composition of the forum and invites more and more new specialists to join. The forum participants are representatives of the academic environment of Ukraine, experts from the Expert Network of the Crimean Platform, public figures, and journalists. Among the scientists there are doctors and candidates of legal, geographical, economic, political, sociological, historical and pedagogical sciences.

Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev congratulated the participants of the event on the start of the forum and briefly spoke about the plan for the upcoming work.

“The topic of de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea should be relevant not only during summits, but should be constantly on the agenda”,- the expert noted.

The purpose of the strategic forum is to integrate representatives of the academic environment of Ukraine into the process of de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea, as well as to develop recommendations for the Ukrainian authorities, allies of Ukraine and international organizations.

Within the framework of the II Strategic Forum, experts will analyze the regulations on Crimea adopted during martial law, analyze the implementation of recommendations developed by the I Strategic Forum, and develop new recommendations for the Central Executive Authorities of Ukraine on the issues of de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea.

On the first day, Irina Starovitskaya, project manager of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine, told the forum participants about the activities and areas of work of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine.

Borys Babin, in turn, presented a presentation on the analysis of regulations on Crimea adopted since 2014, and also spoke in more detail about 2023. In particular, the expert said that from April 2014 to 2023, the Ukrainian parliament approved 20 basic laws of Ukraine, 90 laws on changes to the basic laws of Ukraine and 20 key laws on changes to sectoral laws of Ukraine.

The forum participants had the opportunity, together with Professor Borys Babin, to discuss in detail the development of Ukrainian legislation on the reintegration of Crimea in 2023 and analyze all the features.
