Bekir Mamutov, candidate of philological sciences, expert, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Qırım, who took part in the translation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms into the Crimean Tatar language, stressed the importance of the initiative of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center. He believes that this is a really great contribution to the development of the political and legal vocabulary of the Crimean Tatar language.
“This is a really great contribution to the development of political culture, on the one hand, and on the other hand, the political and legal vocabulary of our language. During this time, we see how our language has evolved. How political culture evolved. And how, despite the fact that in 1944 a colossal blow was dealt to our entire national identity and institutions, we are now standing on the path of a steady revival of all this”,- Mamutov said.
The expert believes that the translation of international documents is extremely important, especially in a situation when the Crimean Tatar people are deprived of their statehood, infringed upon in the exercise of their collective rights. And all this political and legal terminology is very welcome.
“Therefore, I think that the translation of these important documents, their publication – in our situation is of great importance for the development of the language. But, besides this, it has great social, public and political significance”,- he added.
