Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Eskender Bariiev and manager of the CTRC Liudmyla Korotkykh during this week are actively participating in the work of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, which began on April 17 in New York.
Representatives of the CTRC have already told the UN about the situation of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, the persecution and repression that the Russian occupiers subject representatives of the indigenous people of Ukraine in the occupied Crimea and southern Ukraine.
The reaction of the Russian Federation was not long in coming. The official representative of Russia reacted to the speeches of Eskender Bariiev and Liudmyla Korotkykh, calling it all a lie. He claims that Russia has never violated the rights of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, while calling them the Russian community of Crimean Tatars.
