On Monday, April 15, the 23rd session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues kicks off at UN headquarters in New York entitled “Enhancing Indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination in the context of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples: emphasizing the voices of Indigenous youth”.
The 23rd session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues will take place in-person from 15-26 April 2024.
The team of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center will participate actively in this forum. In particular, the Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Chairman of the Department of External Relations and Human Rights Protection of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Eskender Bariiev and lawyer of the CTRC Liyudmyla Korotkikh have already arrived in the United States to participate in this event.
