Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with the Black Sea TV and Radio Company, said that the Russian authorities are purposefully creating new tools to persecute Ukrainian citizens in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Eskender Bariiev, commenting on the new arrests of Crimean Tatars in the occupied Crimea in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case, noted that the Hizb ut-Tahrir case itself is a tool for persecuting pro-Ukrainian activists in the occupied territories. According to the CTRC, there are more than 90 people in the dungeons of the FSB in this case, although these people are not directly related to this organization.

“Indeed, the occupiers purposefully create new tools to persecute Ukrainian citizens, so during the reporting period of the RF Armed Forces on the recognition of the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion as a terrorist organization, Article 20.3.3 (Public actions aimed at discrediting the use” of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) and in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation Art. 280.3 Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Propaganda or public demonstration of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols), he explained.
