Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, head of the Department of Legal and Foreign Affairs of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with Hromadske Radio, spoke about the activities of the CTRC after the start of a full-scale invasion.
“After February 24, 2022, we decided that we should continue to document cases of human rights violations in the temporarily occupied Crimea. However, we have expanded our activities to the new temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine: Kherson region, Zaporizhzhia. We also record the war crimes of the Russian Occupants, we continue to inform the international community”,- Bariiev said.
CTRC experts immediately inform the international community, promptly send statements to the UN Working Group regarding enforced disappearance. There are dozens of cases when a person is released a few days after the kidnapping and the actions of the organization. Often exact information about the whereabouts of the kidnapped is received.
However, we must remember that, despite the new territorial aspirations of Russia, we should not forget about the occupied Crimea.
“To this end, we have developed the LIBERATECRIMEA information campaign to constantly remind the authorities that we need to fight to the end. The occupiers' goal is to destroy all of Ukraine. We must unite representatives of different ethnic groups, confessions in Ukraine and demonstrate to the world that we are all fighting against the occupant”,- he added.
