Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Head of the Department for Legal and Foreign Affairs of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Eskender Bariiev in an interview with the ATR TV channel, commenting on the statement of the Crimean Tatar Nariman Ametov about torture, stressed that this is a typical practice for the Russian Federation.
We remind you that on December 17, in the city of Eski Qırım, Russian security forces searched the house of the Crimean Tatar Ametov Nariman. The man is suspected of committing sabotage. The occupants claim that he was involved in the explosion in Perevalne. But later he was released. As it turned out, Nariman was electrocuted.
“Unfortunately, this is not the first or the last such case. At least the Crimean Tatar Resource Center is aware of 15 such cases. This practice is typical”,- Bariiev said.
According to the CTRC, torture was applied to: Raim Ayvazov, Ervin Ibragimov, Renat Paralamov, Vladyslav Yesypenko, Server Rasylchak, Oleksandr Steshenko, Akhtem Mustafayev, Yevhen Panov, Oleksii Shostakovych, Remzi Bekirov, Osman Arifmemetov, Vladlen Abdulkadyrov, Abdulla Ibrahimov, Fakhri Muratov, Nabi Rakhimov.
The occupants imitated executions, threatened with death, electrocuted, beaten, strangled with bags, put bags on their heads, moreover, a case of murder was even recorded.
“What to do? Of course, this information needs to be widely known to the world. Lawyers in Crimea have to start working and submit applications. Indeed, even in the Russian Federation, such cases are illegal. It is necessary to submit an application to the UN Committee against Torture”,- the expert explained.
