CTRC congratulates everyone on the Day of Ukrainian Literature and Language

October 27, 2023

The team of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center sincerely congratulates everyone on the Day of Ukrainian Literature and Language.

Language is not just a means of communication. This is the spiritual treasure of the nation, this is the great value of every people.

Language always develops together with the people, absorbing their culture, history, traditions and other features. Therefore, it is extremely important to protect and develop it. After all, a people who has lost their language often loses their identity.

The Russian Federation has been trying to erase our identity for more than 9 years. Since the beginning of the occupation of Crimea, the enemy has purposefully destroyed the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages on the peninsula, and after February 24, 2022, such illegal practices spread to new temporarily occupied territories.

But the Russian Federation did not break our people with its actions. Throughout this time, Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars confidently continue their struggle, and the Ukrainian language is becoming increasingly used in everyday life.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center calls on the state to continue to provide conditions for the comprehensive development of the state Ukrainian language, as well as for the development of the language of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people of Ukraine.

In turn, the CTRC also does everything to preserve and develop the Crimean Tatar language. For example, in 2019, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center translated the Universal Declaration of Human Rights into the Crimean Tatar language and posted it on the official UN resource. In 2021, the European Convention on Human Rights was translated. In addition, the CTRC website is available in the Crimean Tatar language.
