On Wednesday, 7 August, a working meeting was held at the office of the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre between Eskender Bariiev, the Chairman of the Board of the CTRC, a member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and Aiyar Memetov, a representative of the International Republican Institute (IRI).The interlocutors discussed future possible cooperation. In particular, they proposed options for organising and holding a strategic session for representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.
In addition, Eskender Bariiev and Aiyar Memetov discussed the possibility of holding various forums and round tables with the participation of representatives of the Crimean Tatar public and members of the representative body.
‘The purpose of these events is to strengthen communication between members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and representatives of the indigenous people in the mainland Ukraine. In addition, with the help of these events, we will be able to increase the activity of Crimean Tatars in supporting the activities of the representative body, as well as familiarise them with its activities,’ – Bariiev stressed.
