CTRC held a meeting with representatives of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue

On Monday, June 20, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center held a meeting with representatives of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue, during which the interlocutors discussed methods for monitoring the state of the ecosystem in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and the Donbas.

The participants of the meeting were Laurent Nicole from ACTA Conseils with his colleague Dmitry, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, head of the Department of Legal  and Foreign Affairs of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev, manager of the CTRC Zarema Bariieva.

One of the activities of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue is environmental monitoring. As part of the conversation, the guests informed about this work, in particular, about the methodology for monitoring the state of the ecosystem in the territory of the occupied Donbas.

For his part, Eskender Bariiev spoke about the methodology by which the CTRC collects information and documents the situation with the violation of the ecosystem in the occupied Crimea.

“One of the methods used by the CRRC is surveillance, which can be carried out thanks to activists living in the newly occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions”,- he said.

Zarema Bariieva acquainted her interlocutor with the analytical materials of the CTRC on the environmental situation in the occupied Crimea. The guests were also informed about the exclusive documentary film Crimea. Dehydration, the authors of which are the Crimean Tatar Resource Center and the Pace and Co Charitable Foundation.

The interlocutors agreed on further cooperation, namely that they would exchange information on methods and means of monitoring in the occupied territories.

Representatives of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue stated that they are ready to help the CTRC to establish contacts with international organizations that deal with environmental issues.
