On February 20, the political prisoner, the figurant of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” Vadim Siruk, turned 29. It is the third birthday that he celebratesin the prison. Vadim Siruk was detained on February 11, 2016 as a result of mass searches in the houses of Crimean Muslims. He is accused of involvement in the activities of the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir", banned on the territory of the Russian Federation. They are charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("organization of activities of a terrorist organization and participation in it"). In January this year, they began to impute them the art. 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power").
On December 15, 2017, the figurants of Yalta Hizb ut-Tahrir case – Emir-Huseyn Kuku, Vadim Siruk, Muslim Aliev, Enver Bekirov, Arsen Dzepparov, Refat Alimov – were illegally transfered to Rostov-on-Don via Krasnodar. Earlier, on December 4, the Rostov District Military Court at a court hearing in Simferopol extended the detention period to the figurants of Yalta "case of Hizb ut-Tahrir " until May 27, 2018.
