The Crimean Tatar Resource Center continues a series of publications of statements by experts of the international online discussion “International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples as an instrument for protection of the rights of indigenous peoples”, which was previously held by the CTRC. For your attention the theses of Dr. Vasavi Kiro, Global Leadership School, FIMI, International Indigenous women’s Forum, Ex member Jharkhans state Commission for Women, Co ordinator Indigenous Women India Network (I WIN).

I congratulate to Crimean Tatar Resource Center and other co organisers for this ZOOM sharing on this occasion.
I want to give my hearty congratulation to 476.6 million Indigenous people living in 90 countries.
On this occasion I want to explore No. 1o article of UNDRIP which talks about displacement and says do not take Indigenous land forcibly. It talks about Free Prior and Inform Consent ( FPIC).Here in India about 80 million people has been displaced from different 7 kind of development projects. Like Big dams, coal bauxite Uranium mining, factories, Sanctuaries, Park, Railway line and other private companies and universities are coming up. But In Tribal India Indigenous people are not getting compensation and job. No proper rehabilitation and resettlement policy. We are fighting and government filing cases against us. I am facing two cases and still I am running to court everymonth.
I want to talk about article 11 and 24th of UNDRIP. Indigenous people have their own traditional medical care system. Its not recognise and respect yet despite so many letters sent to Prime Minister office.
I want to talk about Indigenous women declaration made in 1995 in Beijing. I want to talk about ILO C169 and CEDAW. In Indian constitution there are more than 23 articles which talks about uplift of tribal people. But Indigenous people are not getting their rights.
We need to implement UNDRIP, Beijing +25 and Declaration on Indigenous women made in Beijing 1995.
