Due to the actions of the Russian military in Crimea, a large number of dolphins and birds died. This was stated by the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

“The mass death of dolphins was reported by the Odesa doctor of biological sciences Ivan Rusev. He claims that when examining the dead animals, no traces of poaching were found, and the death of animals is associated with the actions of Russian troops in the Black Sea. According to information from open sources, local activists in Sevastopol also report found dead or injured dolphins, but do not indicate the reasons for their defeat”,- the department noted.

It is noted that animals are adversely affected by constant firing from surface and submarine shells, the use of military sonars, and exposure to navigational instruments of enemy ships.

“Also, on the territory of the occupied Crimea near Sevastopol, there was a massive sudden death of seabirds, this happened as a result of the terrible militarization of the peninsula”,- the Mission added, citing experts.
