On Tuesday, December 28, a meeting of the Public Council under the State Service of Ukraine on Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience was held, during which Eskender Bariiev, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, was elected Chairman of this council.
During the meeting, the majority of members of the Public Council proposed the candidacy of Bariiev for the post of Chairman of the Public Council.
“Understanding the necessity for interethnic and interfaith stability as an important component of national security for a country that is at war and under the constant threat of aggression from the Russian Federation, I accepted the proposals of the members of the Public Council”,- he stressed.
Bariiev expressed gratitude to all members of the Public Council for the trust and hope for a common fruitful and effective work in the formation of the state policy of Ukraine in the field of interethnic relations, religion and the protection of the rights of ethnic communities in Ukraine.
