CTRC submitted proposals to the National Human Rights Strategy in the direction of Ensuring the rights of indigenous peoples and national minorities

On Monday, June 15, the Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev and the CTRC manager Liudmyla Korotkykh took part in a meeting (via videoconference) of the thematic group to develop a draft Decree of the President of Ukraine On Amendments to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated 25 August 2015 No. 501/2015 On the approval of the National Strategy for Human Rights. Representatives of the CTRC made a number of proposals in the direction of Ensuring the rights of indigenous peoples and national minorities.

About being recognized by those who have spent their rank by the Decree of the President of Ukraine on November 14, 2017 No. 361 of the Law of Ukraine On Indigenous Peoples, amendments to other legislative acts) and the development of the National Action Plan for the Preservation and Realization of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine in accordance with the UN system-wide action plan to promote the rights of indigenous peoples and the Sustainable Development Goals and others.

The head of the board of the CTRC Eskender Bariiev expressed the hope that these proposals will form the basis of a strategic document, and in the future in the Action Plan.
