December 29, 2025

In the temporarily occupied Akyar (Sevastopol), Russian security forces detained a 53-year-old local resident, accusing her of “discrediting the Russian Armed Forces” because of statements she made on social media. This was reported by the occupation police of Sevastopol.

According to their information, while monitoring social media, employees of the Russia-controlled Center for Countering Extremism discovered comments by the woman in which she criticized the actions of the Russian military and the Russian Federation’s participation in the war against Ukraine, which Russia calls a “special military operation.”

Law enforcement officers also noted that in 2012, the woman “got” a tattoo with the coat of arms of Ukraine, which she “covered up” with another design in 2024 so as “not to attract attention.” Despite this, the security forces claim that she continued to openly support Ukraine.

An administrative report was drawn up against the detainee under the article on “public actions aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” which provides for a fine of 30,000 to 50,000 rubles. The case materials will be transferred to the district “court” for consideration on the merits.
