The occupation “prosecutor’s office” of Crimea sent a case against a resident of the peninsula to “court” for a comment on social media

The “prosecutor’s office” of occupied Crimea announced the approval of an “indictment” in a criminal case against a local resident.

According to the investigation, the man allegedly posted comments on social media “justifying calls for the destruction of the Crimean Bridge.”

The occupation authorities claim that the suspect was “identified and detained” by FSB officers in Crimea and Sevastopol. The case has been referred to the Southern District Military Court.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center notes that this is yet another example of the Russian Federation’s repressive practices on the temporarily occupied peninsula, where any expression of opinion that does not coincide with the Kremlin’s line is criminalized and prosecuted.
