Political prisoner Iryna Danylovych sent an appeal to the Vice-President of the European Parliament Pina Picerno in connection with the mass abuse of prisoners in the Russian women’s colony in the town of Zelenokumsk.
According to the initiative “Tribunal. Crimean Episode“, the administration of the women’s colony in Zelenokumsk uses ”Gestapo methods in creating unbearable conditions for prisoners”. Iryna Danylovych herself explained that in fact, several hundred women are subjected to the so-called torture without a trace, when unbearably bright electric lights are not turned off either day or night. The effect of the spotlights is so strong that even blindfolds do not save. Because of this, people cannot sleep and their eyes constantly hurt.
“Also, the political prisoner added that every day, starting from six in the morning for several hours in a row in the barracks sound-amplifying equipment works at extreme volume, which also causes suffering to prisoners, and for her inflamed hearing organs becomes a source of inevitable physical pain. Iryna Danylovych compared all this with the methods she read about in historical literature about the crimes of Gestapo officers – the secret police of Nazi Germany,” – the report says.
One more of the methods of bullying is standing for many hours on the formation in bad weather – in the rain or in a severe frost.
“In this regard, the human rights activist asks to publicize these facts, and all those who are not left indifferent by this situation – to express their attitude to the abuse of women in Russian colonies to the Commissioner for human rights of rf Tatyana Moskalkova”, – said the activists.
We would like to remind you that on April 29, 2022, in occupied Crimea in the village of Vladislavovo near Kefe (Feodosia), Russian law enforcers illegally abducted a civic journalist Iryna Danylovych at a bus stop and then searched the house where Iryna lived with her parents.
For 13 days, from April 29 to May 11, 2022, the FSB concealed Iryna Danylovych’s whereabouts from her relatives, acquaintances and friends. The CTRC then found the activist through their own sources, and the FSB was forced to admit that she was in their special units.
On December 28, 2022, the illegal occupation “court” in Kefe (Feodosia) passed a “sentence” against Iryna Danylovych: 7 years of imprisonment in a colony under Article 222. 1 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and a fine of 50 thousand Russian rubles.
