“Flag Day is a day of solidarity with the indigenous people of Ukraine”: CTRC launches a social media storm on the occasion of the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag

June 23, 2025

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center launches a storm “Flag Day is a day of solidarity with the indigenous people of Ukraine” in social media dedicated to the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag. We call on every person who cares, every person, every conscious citizen of their country to join us.

Since the beginning of the Russian occupation of Crimea in 2014, Crimean Tatars were the first to experience a wave of repression for their pro-Ukrainian position. Arrests, searches, interrogations, murders – all of this became a reality for the indigenous people of Ukraine. In these circumstances, the Crimean Tatar flag has become a symbol of resistance – not only for the Crimean Tatars themselves, but for the whole of Ukraine. It is a flag of invincibility, of struggle for freedom, dignity and rights.

Today, during a full-scale war, it is more important than ever to remain united and continue our common struggle. Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars not only share similar colors on their flags, but also a common goal – a united, free and independent Ukraine. That is why it is extremely important to grant official status to the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag and recognize the Crimean Tatar flag as the official flag of Crimea – as a sign of respect, solidarity and support for the indigenous people.

Symbols of the indigenous people should be official!

Together to victory!

Join the storm, share the poster calling for the recognition of the symbols of the indigenous people of Ukraine and the official status of the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag. And don’t forget to use the hashtag #LIBERATECRIMEA to make our voices heard!
