Children from Kherson region sent to occupied Kezlev (Yevpatoria): involvement of schoolchildren in Russian space continues

June 7, 2025
This summer, 150 schoolchildren from the temporarily occupied Oleshkovsky, Golopristansky and Velikolepetisky districts of Kherson region were sent for rehabilitation to the Yuri Gagarin children’s camp in Kezlev (Yevpatoria). This was reported by the Russian media.

“Summer is a time not only for recreation, but also for health, new acquaintances and bright impressions,” – said the “Minister of Education and Science of the Kherson region” appointed by the occupation administration Liudmyla Kovtun.

It is known that the trip is organized with the support of the so-called “chef region” – the Kaliningrad region.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center notes that such “recreational activities” are an element of a systemic policy aimed at integrating children from the occupied territories into the Russian environment. For more than 11 years in Crimea, Russian authorities have consistently used educational and cultural programs to propagandize and militarize local youth. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and partial occupation of the southern regions of Ukraine, similar practices have been extended to the Kherson region.
