Crimean political prisoner Oleksandr Tarapon, who was illegally sentenced to two and a half years in prison by the occupation authorities for the so-called “fakes” about the Russian army, has been released. This was reported by the Prison Lawyer project.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center sincerely congratulates Oleksandr Tarapon on his release! We wish him good health and speedy rehabilitation after experiencing the challenges.
The CTRC, in turn, continues to fight for the release of all Crimean political prisoners illegally detained by Russia and to bring the day when Crimea will be liberated!
As a reminder, on October 21, 2022, a Russian court in Alushta sentenced Oleksandr Tarapon to 2 years and 6 months in a maximum security prison. He was tried for posting “War Criminal” leaflets about his brother-in-law, who is a Russian soldier who participated in the Russian war against Ukraine.
