Local resident  illegally detained in occupied Crimea on suspicion of alleged cooperation with SBU

In the temporarily occupied Akmesdzhit (Simferopol), the FSB detained a local resident who is accused of collecting data on military facilities of the occupation army and passing this information to the Security Service of Ukraine. This is reported by the propaganda agency RIA Novosti Krym with reference to the Center for Public Relations of the Russian Federal Security Service.

According to the Russian security forces, the detainee allegedly “confirmed” his involvement and gave evidence. The FSB stated that the man was “recruited” by the Security Service of Ukraine and allegedly transmitted the collected information via a foreign Internet messenger.

A criminal case was opened against the detainee under the article on “confidential cooperation with a foreign state”. The man faces up to 8 years in prison.
