“The day of February 26 showed that there will be resistance – resistance to Crimea, resistance to all of Ukraine. This day showed that there are and will be people who will not accept lies and will not give up their home. The following years after the occupation of Crimea brought much grief and cynicism. Many people in the world did not want to understand what was really happening,” – said Volodymyr Zelensky.
He emphasized that despite the years of occupation, Ukraine managed to return the issue of the liberation of Crimea to the world agenda by founding the Crimea Platform.
“But still we managed to return the issue of the liberation of Crimea to the world’s agenda. We founded the Crimea Platform. We do not give Russia the opportunity to ‘normalize’ the occupation. We are releasing Crimea prisoners from captivity. We continue to fight for the right to a normal life and guarantees of security and sustainable peace for all of Ukraine,” – the President of Ukraine said.
Zelensky thanked all those who support the fight for the return of Crimea and emphasized that this day is a show of respect for those who did not accept the occupation and continue to defend the truth.
