On March 3, Kyiv hosted the premiere of the investigative film “Vicky’s Last Assignment”, which tells the story of Ukrainian journalist Viktoriya Roschyna, who disappeared in the occupied territory, where she was supposed to make a report. This is reported by “Suspilne Novini”.

The director of the film, Anna Perepelytsya, who worked with Viktoriya on Hromadske in 2017, shared that thanks to the movie the team learned many terrible facts about her journey in captivity, although there are still many moments remain unexplored.

The team revealed that Viktoriya was tortured with electric shocks, there were stab marks on her body, her weight did not exceed 30 kilograms, and the staff of the Russian colony hid her from inspections.

“As we watch the movie, there are many of our people in Russian captivity. And we can’t expect Russians to treat them humanely,” – the director said.

The movie does not deal with Viktoriya’s personal life, but focuses solely on her professional activities. Her loved ones, in particular her father, did not attend the premiere as they consider Viktoriya’s case to be unsolved.

It is impossible to investigate exactly what happened on Russian territory. What we have collected over several months, we consider very important evidence of a war crime that happened on the territory of the Russian Federation with the journalist”, – summarized the team of the film.

We shall remind you that Ukrainian journalist Viktoriya Roshchyna, who went missing during a trip to the occupied territories, died in Russian captivity.

The CTRC notes that this tragedy once again emphasizes the intensification of repression against journalists in the occupied territories, where freedom of speech is completely suppressed!
