To mark the eleventh anniversary of the occupation of Crimea and the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center presents the video ‘We fought then, we will win now’. This video is a reminder of the events of 2014, the repression of the pro-Ukrainian population of the peninsula and the full-scale war that has been going on for three years.
In particular, our video:
– Shows how on 26 February 2014, tens of thousands of Crimeans – Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and people of other nationalities – came to the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to defend the integrity of Ukraine.
– The film describes the massive repression that followed the illegal occupation of Crimea, when Russia began persecuting, arresting and intimidating those who did not accept its regime.
– It demonstrates that Russia did not stop with the occupation of Crimea – on February 24, 2022, it waged war on the whole of Ukraine, using the same methods of terror in the occupied territories.
With this video, we want to once again draw the attention of the entire international community to the crimes of the Russian authorities, and we want to remind the Ukrainian population that we fought back in 2014 when the Russians occupied Crimea and we will win now!
