Rustem Kiamilev is being held in a special reception center in Akmesdzhit

November 11, 2024

Human rights activist and lawyer Rustem Kiamilev, who was sentenced to 10 days under the article on demonstration of extremist symbols, is being held in a special reception center in Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) at 1A Pavlenko Street. This was reported to the Crimean Solidarity by his lawyer Edem Semedlyayev, who represented Kiamilev during the drawing up of the report and in the court of first instance. This morning, the defense lawyer filed an appeal to the Supreme “court” of Crimea.

“I believe that the norms of administrative legislation were violated when the ruling was issued. The court incompletely and biasedly examined the case materials, which contain irreconcilable contradictions,” – Semedlyayev noted.

Among the main violations, the lawyer points out the absence of corpus delicti and the intention of Kiamilev to demonstrate extremist symbols. Let us recall that on November 7, the Russian occupiers in Crimea came to the house of lawyers Rustem Kiamilev and Lilya Hemedzhi to conduct an inspection.

Two administrative reports were drawn up against lawyer Rustem
Kiamilev:

The first protocol was drawn up under Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation for reposting from the Crimean Solidarity page.

The second protocol – under part 1 of Article 20.3.3 for “disagreement with the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”.
