Ukraine has completed the repatriation of the bodies of 563 fallen
defenders. In particular, 320 bodies of soldiers who died in the Donetsk sector and 89 soldiers who gave their lives in the Bakhmut sector were returned. In addition, 154 bodies were repatriated from morgues in Russia. This was reported by the Coordination Center for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
The repatriation process was carried out thanks to the coordinated work of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as other state bodies and security and defense structures of Ukraine. The report expresses special gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its assistance.
The repatriated bodies will then be transported to the relevant state institutions, where law enforcement and forensic experts will identify the victims.
