Gennadiy Afanasyev would have turned 34 today, but the memory of the hero from Crimea lives on!

November 8, 2024
Today, on November 8, the former political prisoner of the Kremlin, Gennady Afanasyev, who died at the front, would have turned 34 years old.

As a reminder,  Gennadiy Afanasyev   opposed the occupation of Crimea by Russian troops back in 2014, for which he was arrested and illegally convicted. Later, he managed to return to the territory controlled by Ukraine during an exchange in 2016. After his release, Gennadiy became one of the leaders of the movement for the release of Ukrainian political prisoners.

In 2022,  Gennadiy volunteered and went to the front to fight for
victory. He was killed in the Luhansk region near Bilohorivka and
received the Order for Courage, III class.

Gennadiy Afanasyev  will remain in the memory of everyone who fights for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. His example of courage and dedication is a guiding light for all of us. Heroes live as long as they are remembered, and we will keep his memory alive in our hearts.
