In Kefу (Feodosia) and Kezlev (Yevpatoria) in the occupied Crimea, deterioration of drinking water quality has been recorded due to an accident at an oil depot, which caused a man-made emergency. Water is supplied from two reservoirs, which can cause an unpleasant odour. This is reported by representatives of the State Unitary Enterprise RK ‘Water of Crimea’.
‘In connection with repair work on the North Crimean channel culvert, as well as due to increased water consumption to eliminate the technogenic emergency, from 10 October 2024 water supply will be carried out from Feodosia and Front reservoirs’, – stated in the message in Telegram.
It is also noted about the possible temporary deterioration of drinking water quality by organoleptic indicators, in particular, the appearance of odour. At the same time, chemical and bacteriological indicators of water meet the normative requirements.
A similar situation is observed in Kezlev (Yevpatoria) and neighbouring villages, where an increase in water turbidity was recorded due to the launch of the third section of the main water pipeline after major repairs.
Local occupation ‘authorities’ urge not to panic and recommend boiling water before consumption.
