Occupation ‘court’ in Crimea convicts young man for allegedly attempting to kill former ‘tourism minister’

Occupation Kyiv district ‘court’ of Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) sentenced Mamut Belyalov, who was accused of possessing weapons and preparing to murder the former head of the occupation Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, Vadim Volchenko. Mamut Belyalov was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Volchenko himself filed a lawsuit for compensation for moral damage in the amount of one million rubles, as reported by the human rights activist of the initiative ‘Crimean episode’ in Telegram.

In August last year, Russian security forces announced the detention of a 25-year-old resident of the village of Sovetskoye, whom, according to them, the Ukrainian security services forced to cooperate and commissioned the preparation of the murder of the so-called ‘Minister’ of resorts and tourism of Crimea.

Now the Kyiv district ‘court’ of Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) has announced the verdict of Mamut Belyalov, accusing him of possession of weapons and intent to commit murder. During the trial, the victim Vadim Volchenko filed a claim for compensation for moral damage in the amount of one million rubles. Belyalov asked the ‘court’ to determine compensation in the amount of 50 thousand rubles. However, the ‘court’ satisfied Volchenko’s demand, sentencing the Crimean Tatar to 12 years in prison and imposing a fine of 350 thousand rubles.
