Eskender Bariiev participated in the Public Leaders Forum: United for Victory

On Saturday, 14 September, Eskender Bariiev, Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, took part in the Public Leaders Forum: United for Victory.

Within the framework of panel discussions, the challenges and opportunities for sustainable development of volunteering, integration of veterans and reintegration of citizens in the temporarily occupied territories, development of local democracy and involvement of citizens in the process of rebuilding communities were discussed.

In particular, Eskender Bariiev joined the panel discussion: ‘Strategies for reintegration and work with citizens in the temporarily occupied territories’. He spoke about the mission and areas of work of the CTRC:

  • ensuring the collective rights of the Crimean Tatar people and individual rights of Ukrainian citizens;
  • monitoring and documenting human rights violations and rf war crimes on the territory of Ukraine;
  • development of drafts of normative acts of Ukraine;
  • supporting cultural and educational initiatives;
  • monitoring and analysing the components of sustainable development in Crimea;
  • implementation of information and awareness-raising activities.
In addition, Eskender Bariiev spoke about the CTRC’s achievements in the reintegration of Crimea. In particular, he spoke about the Strategic Forum ‘The Future of Crimea’.
‘There have already been held 3 sessions of the Strategic Forum ‘The Future of Crimea’, which attracts experts, including representatives of the academic environment of Ukraine, experts of the Crimea Platform Expert Network, public figures, journalists, doctors and candidates of legal, geographical, economic, political, sociological, historical and pedagogical sciences’, – he noted.
The Chairman of the Board of the CTRC noted that the products of this Forum are two documents ‘The Future of Crimea: legal provision and recommendations to strategies’, ‘REINTEGRATION OF CRIMA: government action plans and development of international assistance mechanisms’, as well as the Regulations and internal policies of the Crimea Platform Expert Network.
