The singer’s film Jamala. Songs of Freedom’ won the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards in Cannes. Jamala announced this on her Facebook page.

‘I’m reading and can’t believe it…
Out of nearly 800 applications from 46 countries, the Cannes jury chose this film, which won the Golden Dolphin in the Human Concerns and Social Issues category,’ the singer said.

‘This film is about us, about each of us. Every frame of this film shows what Ukrainians have been going through for three years. It is about the history since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, about these three years of losses, pain, suffering, expectations and uncertainty. But at the same time, this film is about our desperate struggle for our freedom,’ Jamala added.

Earlier, the singer released ‘ARAFAT DAĞINDAN’, a mystical ancient folk song from the city of Akmesdzhit (Simferopol). These two events are closely related, because, according to Jamala, they took place on the same day.
