Political prisoner Oleksandr Syzykov’s whereabouts unknown

September 17, 2024
Figurant with a disability of the first ‘Hizb ut-Tahrir case’   Oleksandr Syzykov   was not found in any pre-trial detention centre in Sevastopol. This is reported by ‘Crimean Solidarity’ public association.
On 14 September, employees of the ‘police’ from the Bakhchisarai district of occupied Crimea took away in an unknown direction political prisoner with disabilities  Oleksandr Syzykov  .

Recall that  Oleksandr Syzykov  was arrested on 7 July 2020 because of mass searches and unfounded charges in the case of ‘Hizb ut-Tahrir’. In addition to him, six other people were arrested and sent to the pre-trial detention centre.  Oleksandr Syzykov, due to complete loss of vision, was placed under house arrest.

However, on 13 September, the rf military court of appeal recognised  Oleksandr Syzykov  as such, who can serve his sentence in a correctional institution. These actions violate fundamental human rights.

Later,  Oleksandr Syzykov’s lawyer in a comment in ‘Suspilne Krim’ reported that the political prisoner was found in the Bakhchisaray temporary isolation centre. Now he is in a cell alone and trying not to lose heart.
