On 6-8 September, the Russian occupiers plan to hold illegal ‘elections’ to fake self-governing bodies in Crimea.
It is known that for ‘legalisation’ they plan to attract collaborators from other occupied territories to the process.
‘Now the Russians are forming lists from branches of the Kremlin council of public figures in the VOT of Kherson and Zaporozhye, who will go as observers. That is, their task will be to help the Kremlin to ‘legalise’ the electoral process,’ – stated in the message of the Centre of national resistance.
According to ‘Krym.Realii’, distance learning will be introduced in Crimean schools in those educational institutions where polling stations for the election of deputies to the Russian parliament of Crimea are located.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Centre notes the illegality of such actions of Russia and calls on all residents of the occupied territories to refuse to participate in this gathering.
These illegal ‘elections’ are yet another attempt to legalise its presence in the occupied Ukrainian territories. The involvement of collaborators from other occupied regions, as well as the use of schools as polling stations, demonstrates cynicism and violation of all international norms and rights.
Ukraine and the international community will never recognise this farce, and anyone who participates in these ‘elections’ will be an accomplice in a crime against the sovereignty of Ukraine. It is therefore important that the inhabitants of the occupied territories realise the consequences of their participation in such illegal actions and refrain from co-operating with the occupying authorities.
