Now, according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, 165 political prisoners of Crimea are serving sentences in Russian colonies, 100 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.

We would like to remind that now according to the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre there are 356 political prisoners and those prosecuted in criminal ‘cases’ for the occupation period of Crimea, 222 of them are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people. More detailed information about the Kremlin prisoners can be obtained from the clickable chart ‘Victims of the occupation of Crimea’, which is updated on an ongoing basis on the CTRC website.
According to the CTRC, this category consists of 5 subcategories depending on the status of the persecuted:

– Sentenced and serve terms  in colonies (165, 100 are Crimean Tatars);

– Have restrictions or on probation (47, 24 – Crimean Tatars);

– In pre-trial detention facilities (54, 36 – Crimean Tatars);

– Released (56, 34 – Crimean Tatars);

– Persecuted (34, 28 – Crimean Tatars).
