The ‘head’ of the occupied Crimea, collaborator Sergey Aksyonov, has admitted that the tourist season in the peninsula has received a serious blow. According to him, the number of holidaymakers this year has dropped by 30% compared to the period before Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine began.
Nevertheless, the occupation authorities are trying to support the tourism industry by promising privileges for hotels with fortifications on their territory. Aksyonov noted that measures are being taken to ensure ‘safe’ holidays in war conditions. According to him, some hotels may be exempted from rent for land.
We would like to remind that due to the danger of military action, as well as international sanctions, Crimean resorts are losing their appeal to tourists. However, the occupiers continue to promote the illusion of stability despite the objective difficulties.
