Political prisoner Viсtor Stashevskiy, who was previously sentenced to six and a half years in prison, has had his punishment toughened. The man was transferred from the colony to prison for 3 years.

We will remind, on 4 June 2019, Russian security forces conducted searches in at least 9 houses of Crimeans in Sevastopol, suspected of participation in the religious organisation “Jehovah’s Witnesses” banned in Russia. As a result, 52-year-old Viсtor Stashevskiy was detained, but the next day he was released from the detention centre on his own recognisance. On 19 October, the Gagarinsky district “court” of the occupied Sevastopol started a new consideration of the “case” against Viсtor Stashevskiy , suspected of participation in the Jehovah’s Witnesses religious organization banned in Russia. In March 2021, the Gagarinsky district “court” of Sevastopol sentenced Stashevskiy to six and a half years in prison.
