The First Western District Military Court in St Petersburg has sentenced a Crimean Alexander Novogrenko to 15 years in prison for arson of a military recruitment centre and attempted drug trafficking.
According to the case materials, on September 22 last year, an unknown person wrote Novogrenko on the Internet and offered him to set fire to any military recruitment office in St. Petersburg for 100 thousand rubles. After he agreed, he was sent instructions on how to make a “Molotov cocktail” and conspiracy.
Five days later, the man allegedly threw one Molotov cocktail towards the front door of the military recruitment centre and recorded it on video, then Novogrenko changed his clothes and fled the scene.
The day after the arson, Novogrenko and an unidentified man “entered into a criminal conspiracy aimed at committing the sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale”. He was then detained by Russian police.
