Crimean Tatar flag was raised in Kyiv near the KSCA

On Wednesday, 26 June, Crimean Tatar Flag Day, the Crimean Tatar national flag was raised near the Kyiv City State Administration (KSCA).

The event was joined by Deputy Head of the KSCA Anna Starostenko, representatives of the Mayor’s Office, as well as members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, in particular, the Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, Chairman of the Department of External Relations and Human RightsProtection of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Eskender Bariiev.

“Today the Crimean Tatar flag is a symbol of the struggle for the rights of the indigenous people of Crimea and the liberation of the peninsula from Russian occupation, as well as one of the symbols of the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We believe that very soon in the free Crimea the Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian flags will loom once again !” – Anna Starostenko noted.

Eskender Bariiev reminded that today, solemn ceremonies of raising the Crimean Tatar national flag are held all over the country. According to him, diplomats, politicians and public figures of Ukraine show their respect for the Crimean people and its flag.
“Today we have gathered together to proudly raise the flag of the Crimean Tatar people, to support our compatriots in the occupied Crimea, who preserve their own dignity and demonstrate our unity,” he stressed.
