In Crimea, the occupation court sentenced a man to 6 years in prison on charges of cooperation with foreign intelligence services

The occupation court in Crimea has sentenced a man to six years in a penal colony. He is accused of cooperating with foreign intelligence services.

The man moved to Crimea from the mainland of Ukraine in 2010. He had rf citizenship, but was anti-Russian and openly spoke about hatred towards Russia, according to the occupation Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Crimea and Sevastopol.

The man allegedly colluded with representatives of the SSU, expressing readiness for confidential cooperation with them. He suggested ways to hinder the special military operation.

The occupational supreme court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced the man to six years of imprisonment with serving the sentence in a colony of general regime, followed by restriction of freedom for 1 year and a fine of 500 thousand rubles.

This is the first case of announcing a sentence under Article 275.1 of the Russian Criminal Code in Crimea. It is called “cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization”.
