“Ukrposhta” to the Day of embroidery, which in 2024 will be celebrated on May 16, issues new stamps with traditional embroidery patterns of the Crimean Tatars and Kharkiv region.

Kharkivshchina is represented by a fragment of embroidery of a woman’s shirt of the XIX century with roosters on the sleeves. The novelty picks up the series “Ukrainian embroidery – the code of the nation”, which began back in 2018.

The Autonomous Republic of Crimea is represented by a sample of tambour embroidery of the middle of the XIX century. Traditionally, it is made with gold and silk threads on homespun cloth.

Indeed, embroidery is not only an art, but also a way to transmit cultural and historical symbols. Each pattern, each color has a special meaning, conveying the traditions and history of the people.
