“This “document” without initial data – about unknown possible illegal actions at unknown possible events should not be handed over, and even more so should not have any legal force,”- said the human rights activist in her note.
She added that the initiative to serve such a warning belongs to employees from the Akmedzhit (Simferopol) “Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea”. The activist emphasized that they use such warnings not for preventive purposes.
“This is exactly how they practice censorship, banning expression, attacking independent advocacy, human rights organizations and the media,”- the woman added.
Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Eskender Bariiev in a comment to “Suspilne Krim” noted that such an active issuance of warnings to activists connects with the approach of May 18 – the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people.
“They even before the full-scale military aggression issued warnings to the memorable dates – on the eve of February 26, on the eve of May 18, on the eve of the Day of the Crimean Tatar flag on June 26 and on the eve of Human Rights Day on December 10,” -he said.

“This is intimidation so that if there is an event and if a person himself is involved in the event, any provocation or the fact that the local occupation administration did not give consent to the event, then immediately an administrative and possibly criminal case will be opened against these people,” – he believes.
