We would like to remind you that this book tells how 14 Crimean Tatar families went through numerous trials in different times. Each time they suffered from the same enemy, no matter what new name he invented for himself: whether it was the Russian Empire, or the USSR, or the Russian Federation.
The presentation was also attended by the heroes of the book, in particular Eskender Bariiev – Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Chairman of the Department of External Relations and Human Rights Protection of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.
Indeed, among the 14 stories described in the book, there is the story of the Bariiev family, which covers the events of 2014 and also devotes a significant part of attention to the trials that each member of this family went through decades before.
During his speech, Eskender Bariiev spoke about how the occupation of Crimea began in 2014, the course of all events and the tireless struggle of the Crimean Tatar people for the right to live in their homeland.
“One of the first searches took place in our house in Crimea. Russian security forces burst into my apartment at 6 a.m. My sons were sleeping in the apartment – the eldest was four years old and the youngest was six months old. They turned everything in the house upside down and took my laptop and computer,” he said.
