In Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) the dome of the Cathedral of St. Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and Princess Olga was dismantled. This is reported by the “Voice of Crimea”.
“The corresponding steps of the occupiers are the continuation of the systematic destruction of Ukrainian identity and everything Ukrainian in the occupied Crimea, as well as the continuation of persecution of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in order to ensure that exclusively loyal to the Kremlin religious structures remained in the occupied territory in particular, the Russian Orthodox Church”, – says the statement of the department.
The Metropolitan bishop of Simferopol and Crimean Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kliment in a comment to the publication “Voice of Crimea” noted the systematic destruction of all Ukrainian in Crimea.
“Unfortunately, I must state the complete inactivity of the state authorities of Ukraine in religious matters, which encourages r**ists to act, commit crimes, destroy Ukrainian churches in Crimea”, – says the statement.
