The Frunzensky District Court of Vladimir refused to release political prisoner Amet Suleymanov on health grounds. Lutfie Zudieva reported this via her Facebook page.
According to human rights activist Lilya Hemedzhi, Suleymanov’s health is incompatible with the conditions of detention in prison: he suffers from shortness of breath, lung pain, high blood pressure and swelling of the legs.
“Over the year, Amet’s condition has deteriorated significantly, the degree of his diseases has changed, and two of his diseases are included in the list of diseases and correspond to paragraphs 41 and 42 of the list of diseases that provide for release from punishment due to a serious illness. However, the representative of the medical and sanitary unit of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation, who was present at the court hearing today, referred to the fact that the degree of Amet’s illness was not severe enough,” – Lilya Hemedzhi said.
The defense is preparing an appeal.
We would like to remind you that civic journalist Amet Suleymanov was taken under arrest on April 6.
On April 26, his medicines were confiscated from him, despite the fact that his doctors had prescribed him a heart valve replacement surgery and had prescribed all the necessary medicines themselves.
On August 29, it became known that Suleymanov was transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation.
