CTRC’s struggle on the international arena for human rights in the occupied Crimea

March 1, 2024
It has been 10 years since the occupation of Crimea. The team of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has tirelessly continued to advocate for the restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity at the national and international levels.
Thus, one of our activities is monitoring and documenting human rights violations in the occupied Crimea and informing the international community about the real situation on the peninsula.
The CTRC team systematically makes reports at various authoritative international platforms. Namely, these are:

UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

OSCE Annual Human Dimension Meeting

Sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

Session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women

Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP)

UN Forum on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law

OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meetings and many others.

And also together with our partners we organized events dedicated to Crimea in such cities as: Vienna, Dubai, New York, Geneva, Strasbourg, Sharm el-Sheikh, Warsaw, Brussels and others.

CTRC experts tell the world about human rights violations in the occupied Crimea, destruction of the ecosystem, repression of women, children, elderly people, political prisoners, young people, lawyers, illegal mobilization into the russian army, torture, forced abductions and so on.

These activities are very important, because in order to bring all the perpetrators to justice. We need to document every crime committed by the Russian Federation against Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea.

We continue to work further for the return of Crimea and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine!
