Crimean resident faces imprisonment for desecration of symbols of military glory of the Russian Federation

Today, January 29, the Supreme Court of Crimea began considering a case against a Crimean citizen who is accused of vandalism and desecration of symbols of the military glory of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the public initiative Crimean Process.

It is known that the attendants were not allowed to attend the first court hearing, the preliminary examination. The judge is Alla Khynevych, who is currently suspected of treason by a Ukrainian court. The accused, Oleksandr Tiurenko, is charged under Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Rehabilitation of Nazism), which is associated, in particular, with dissemination of information about days of military glory and memorable dates in Russia, expressing clear disrespect for society.

He faces up to 8 years in prison.
