The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading a bill according to which they are going to confiscate property for spreading fakes about the Russian army. This was reported by the Russian media Kommersant.
395 deputies voted for the amendments, three voted against.

We remind you that on January 22, 2024, a bill on confiscation of property for fakes about the Russian army was introduced to the State Duma of Russia. The document expands the list of crimes for which confiscation of property is possible under Art. 104.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Provides for the confiscation of money, valuables and other property used or intended for the financing of terrorism). Such crimes are proposed to include violations under Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) and 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public calls for activities aimed against security and protection of human rights).
In addition, it is proposed to confiscate awards and deprive them of titles and awards by court decision.
